2026 class four-star WR Somourian Wingo confirms receiving offer from Brian Kelly's LSU

Four-star prospect Somourian Wingo slowly emerged as one of the best wide receivers in the 2026 class. The standout from St. Augustine High School in Florida has witnessed a notable rise in his recruitment in his junior season and LSU has become the latest suitor in this race.

Brian Kelly's program extended a scholarship to Wingo for the Tigers 2026 on Wednesday. Wingo expressed his excitement about the offer on X, tagging Kelly along with LSU football personnel analyst Will Clouden, wide receiver coach Cortez Hankton Jr. and offensive coordinator Joe Sloan:

LSU has four committed players in its 2026 class: safety Aiden Hall, defensive lineman Richard Anderson, safety Jakai Anderson and interior offensive lineman Jalan Chapman. The class ranks No. 9 in the nation and No. 5 in the Southeastern Conference.

Besides Somourian Wingo, LSU remains hot on the trail for several other top-tier prospects. The Tigers are heavily favored to land four-star wide receiver Jabari Mack from Los Angeles in the 2025 class, with a 92.9% chance of securing his commitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

They are also contending for two other four-star wide receivers, Mississippi natives Tristen Keys and O'Mari Johnson.

Somourian Wingo opens up about his recent surge in recruitment

This year has witnessed a notable rise in Somourian Wingo's recruitment, as he has received offers from more than one dozen college programs. Schools like Tennessee, Michigan, South Carolina, Miami, Louisville, UCF and more have extended offers. Besides LSU, his September offers included Mercer and Kansas.

Despite the attention, Wingo remains grounded and focused on his journey.

"It’s great, just keeping me motivated, also reminding me to stay focused and keep grinding, it’s all paying off," Wingo said (via Rivals). "Thanking God every day, though, none of it is possible with out him -- so i’m giving all glory to god and just staying humble and working."

Though he has yet to reveal his preferred program, Wingo noted the importance of "great coaching staff" when evaluating potential schools.

Somourian Wingo is rated as a four-star recruit by all major recruiting channels, except On3. 247 Sports places him as the No. 185 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 34 wide receiver in the 2026 class and the No. 30 recruit in Florida. He is also ranked as the No. 132 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 23 wide receiver in the cycle and the No. 25 recruit in the state by ESPN.
