Running back Brian Bonner Jr., from Valencia High School in Valencia, California, has already gained attention from some major college programs. He holds scholarships from UCLA, Nebraska, Auburn, Arizona, Tennessee, Washington, Oregon, Stanford, California, Utah and USC for the 2026 recruiting class.
The latest to join the race for Bonner's commitment is Georgia, which extended an offer after a conversation with running back coach Josh Crawford. Bonner shared his excitement on X/Twitter, writing:
"After a great conversation with Coach Crawford, I’m blessed to receive an offer from Georgia! Thank you! #agtg #GoDawgs"
Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 180 pounds, Brian Bonner Jr.'s athletic prowess ranks him as No. 95 overall in the nation, No. 11 in California and No. 12 running back in the 2026 class, as per On3. 247 Sports lists him as No. 98 overall in the nation, No. 16 in California and No. 8 running back in the class.
Recruitment analysts think highly of Bonner, as evidenced by Greg Biggins' assessment of the rising star:
"Bonner is on the short list when talking about the top running backs in the ’26 West Coast class. We liked him a lot at the Under Armour Next Camp in March and he has the total package of size, speed, wiggle and hands." [H/T 247Sports]
According to MaxPreps, Bonner rushed for nearly 500 yards, added 457 receiving yards and contributed 274 kick return yards, amassing 1,230 all-purpose yards. He also runs track, clocking a personal best 10.48-100m and 21.80-200m.
UCLA and Nebraska lead the race for Brian Bonner Jr.'s commitment
UCLA's first-year head coach, DeShaun Foster, and his staff hosted several prospects in the spring, and Bonner was among them. Foster extended an offer to the running back in March.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, UCLA holds a 38.1% chance of landing Brian Bonner Jr.'s commitment. With only wide receiver Jonah Smith committed to the 2026 class so far, the Bruins are keen to add Bonner to their roster.
Bonner's visit to Nebraska this summer also made a big impression on him.
"The visit went great,” Bonner told On3. “The best part of the facility I saw was the recovery rooms. They have lots of ways they help the players recover after hard practices and games.”
During the visit, Brian Bonner Jr. met head coach Matt Rhule and running back coach E.J. Barthel, which made him foresee his potential fit in the program.
“I think I fit the Nebraska offense style because they like to run the ball a lot. That’s what a running back looks for. They want an opportunity to run the football.”
With a 33.3% chance of securing his pledge, Nebraska is equally keen to bolster its 2026 class, which currently has no committed players.
