Three-star wide receiver Tyran Evans, from William Amos Hough High School in North Carolina, is slowly catching the attention of college programs. As of now, he has received offers from USF, Florida, Charlotte, Virginia Tech, South Carolina and NC State.
On Monday, Evans attracted interest from his in-state North Carolina Tar Heels football program, as coach Mack Brown's school extended an offer for the 2026 class. He shared the news on X, tagging Brown, wide receiver coach Lonnie Galloway and director of player personnel Daniel Bernstein.

Evans is ranked as the nation's No. 87 wide receiver and the No. 23 prospect in North Carolina by On3. His recruitment journey has just started, and the upcoming months may see him receive offers from many top college programs.
As of now, USF is the frontrunner in Evan's recruitment journey, as the Bulls have a 79.3% chance of securing his commitment, according to On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The program has three-star linebacker Elijah Dias committed to the 2026 class.
Charlotte, Virginia Tech and James Madison are also in the race for Tyran Evans' pledge with 6.3%, 5.4% and 4.5% chances, respectively.
Tyran Evans flashes brilliance in the 2024 season
Tyran Evans and his William Amos Hough High School football team started the 2024 season with a nail-biting 44-45 loss to Northwestern on September 23. Despite Hough jumping out to a commanding 44-24 lead, Northwestern mounted an impressive comeback to clinch the victory.
Hough outgained Northwestern 558-394 in total yards, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. However, Evans had a standout performance, recording four catches for 175 yards and two touchdowns.
Nevertheless, the Hough Huskies bounced back in their second game and dominated the Myers Park Mustangs 52-13 on the road. The Huskies ensured their dominance early by taking a 28-7 lead by halftime. Evans was once again a key contributor, amassing 144 receiving yards and three touchdowns, helping his team level their record at 1-1.
Through two games, Evans accumulated 319 receiving yards and averaged an impressive 159.5 yards per game with five touchdowns. He and his school will take on Carolina Forest on Friday.
