Four-star quarterback Brady Edmunds, from Huntington Beach High School in California, is becoming one of the most highly touted prospects in the nation. Despite many 2026 recruits still awaiting major offers, the signal-caller has already attracted over 20 college programs.
Edmunds had been a hot name lately, and UCLA also entered the race by offering him a scholarship on Friday. He shared the news on X:
"Blessed to have received my 22nd offer from UCLA! #GoBruins #4sUp @UCLAFootball @DeShaunFoster26 @iamtedwhite @EBieniemy @COACHSTACE_ @CoachDanny10 @HBHSFootball @footballandlife @RickHagedorn @GregBiggins @ChadSimmons_ @adamgorney @BrandonHuffman @SWiltfong_ @BlairAngulo."
This offer is notable, as it's the first one from UCLA coach Dan Foster, offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and quarterback coach Ted White for the 2027 class.
Additionally, Edmunds was the first quarterback to receive an offer from Ohio State in the cycle following an incredible performance at a recruiting camp in June.
In his freshman season, Edmonds set a school record with 2,691 passing yards, 24 touchdown passes and two rushing touchdowns. His performance earned him the top spot in California for passing yards among the 2027 class and the fifth spot nationally.
According to Greg Biggins, 247 Sports recruiting analyst, Brady Edmunds is listed among the top quarterbacks for the 2027 class. Besides football, he also contributes to his school’s basketball team.
Brady Edmunds prepares for multiple school visits
Brady Edmonds had a very busy summer this year, as he visited over half a dozen schools, including his trip to Penn State camp on June 9.
In an interview with Chad Simmons of On3, Edmunds revealed his upcoming plans this fall.
"I'm looking to go to a Ohio State game, Michigan and Texas, and maybe add in a couple more as my schedule comes out," Edmonds told.
"Yeah, I mean obviously when I took those visits, it was in the summer. So students weren't there and such like that. So seeing the game day environment's a big thing with me and just getting more time with the coaching staff."
Brady Edmunds is ranked the No. 16 prospect in the nation, the No. 2 quarterback in the 2027 class and the No. 6 recruit in California, per On3. As per 247 Sports, he's ranked as the nation's No. 14 prospect, the No. 2 quarterback in the class and the No. 3 recruit in the state.
The prospect earned offers from Texas, Arizona State, Washington, SMU, Michigan, Arkansas, Louisville and Virginia Tech. Simmons asked him what he would be going to look at during those visits. Edmunds set his priorities in choosing a school:,
"Definitely the family aspect of the coaching staff. I think that's definitely up there for me. And then just the national championship contender of a team."
According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Texas leads the race for Brady Edmunds' commitment with a 36.7% chance. Arizona State follows with an 11.4% chance, Washington with 9.8% and SMU with 8.1%.
