AJ Dybantsa, a five-star prospect in the 2025 class, showed support for his future BYU teammate on Monday on Instagram. The BYU signee shared Utah Prep’s post featuring Xavion Staton in the cover picture as the 7-foot-1 center is transferring to Dybantsa's team to conclude his high school career.

The welcoming post was met with pleasant surprise from the basketball fans.

“Let’s welcome the best big man in the country @xavi__wavi_ who has transferred to Utah Prep for the remainder of his senior year!” the caption of the post read.

Dybantsa also showed his excitement about this development on his story. He captioned the shared post on his story:

Xavion Staton should be an excellent addition to Utah Prep. The Las Vegas native ranks 30th in the 2025 class, according to On3. Both AJ Dybantsa and Staton have signed with BYU. The move allows the future Cougars teammates to develop an on-court understanding of their dynamic before stepping into college basketball together.

Utah Prep will be competing on a national stage in the Grind Session. Fans are excited to catch a glimpse of the duo. The first look at Dybantsa and Staton can be seen Friday in Newark, New Jersey, as Utah Prep faces Dynamic Prep (Texas) in the prestigious Iverson Classic.

AJ Dybantsa continues to prevail as top prospect

AJ Dybantsa is considered among the top picks for the 2026 NBA draft due to his size, skills and popularity. He has a whopping $3.8 million NIL value, according to On3.

In the showcase event, Utah Prep played over the weekend in Arizona, Dybantsa led the way as the MVP. He scored 23 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists in an 80-63 win over Family Academy (Texas).
