Week 4 of the Trinity League action concluded on Friday, October 25. This week's slate of games included the highly anticipated matchup between the nation's No. 1 team, Mater Dei, and the No. 2 team, St. John Bosco.

Apart from the aforementioned teams, JSerra Catholic won their first league game against Santa Margarita on Thursday. Orange Lutheran's win against Servite on Friday concluded Week 4 of the Trinity League action.

Let's take a look at three takeaways from the league action in Week 4.

3 takeaways from Trinity League Week 4

#3 JSerra Catholic won their first league game this season

The JSerra Catholic Lions took on the Santa Margarita Eagles on Thursday, October 24. JSerra came into the game looking for their first win in the Trinity League, having lost their previous three.

Santa Margarita was in the same boat, having not tasted success in the league prior to Week 4. However, the Lions took home the victory in this one, winning the game 35-33 to register their first Trinity League win of the season.

The Eagles were in the lead at halftime by one point, but a brilliant 13-0 third quarter from JSerra gave them the lead of the game heading into the fourth. Despite being outscored by the Eagles 13-3 in the final period, JSerra came out on top to claim their sixth overall win of the season.

#2 Orange Lutheran hold the Servite Friars scoreless in their Week 4 matchup

Orange Lutheran's game against Servite was supposed to be a tight encounter. However, that wasn't the case as the Lancers demolished the Friars, 38-0, en route to winning their seventh game of the season.

Orange Lutheran held Servite's quarterback duo of Allen Kennett V and Leo Hannan to just 69 passing yards combined. The Friars managed to accumulate just 131 offensive yards in the game, thanks to a stellar defensive performance from the Lancers.

Servite's loss on Friday was their third consecutive defeat after winning their previous six games. The Lancers, on the other hand, are on a three-game win streak and will look to continue their run at Mater Dei next Friday.

#1 Mater Dei delivered a statement win against St. John Bosco on Friday

In one of the most keenly anticipated matchups of the high school football season, the Mater Dei Monarchs took on the St. John Bosco Braves on Friday. Both the teams came into the game with unbeaten records and looked to build on that.

Mater Dei came out firing as they scored 45 unanswered points in the first half, essentially ending the game before the start of the third period. The Braves tried to fight back, but the damage was already done as St. John Bosco faced their first defeat of the campaign.

The Monarchs quarterback Dash Beierly had a terrific game, throwing for 309 yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt tallied 114 yards and scored the game's first touchdown.
