Four-star prospect Anthony Rogers started his senior year at Carver Montgomery High School in Alabama, after a stint at IMG Academy in Florida. The running back committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide in June.
Over the weekend, Rogers attended Alabama's game against Western Kentucky at Bryant-Denny Stadium. He posted a photo of him on X wearing an Alabama hat with the caption "#rolltide!!" as a show of support.
In the match, Alabama overwhelmed the Hilltoppers with a 63-0 victory, the largest margin for a first-year head coach in the program's history. The Crimson Tide scored 42 points in the first half alone and amassed 600 total yards of offense.
This game marked another milestone for Alabama as Kalen DeBoer debuted as head coach, taking over from the retired Nick Saban. With this victory, Alabama improved to 84-11-2 in home-opening games, extending its streak to 23 consecutive wins.
Anthony Rogers' recruitment update
Anthony Rogers has been proactive in exploring his options by taking visits and engaging with other programs.
Rumors have been swirling about Rogers potentially flipping his commitment to Ohio State. In June, he took a multi-day unofficial visit to the Buckeyes, where he reportedly had a positive experience. According to John Garcia Jr. of Rivals, the prospect described his time in Columbus as "great."
Even Auburn was rumored to flip Rogers' commitment. Despite these visits and the ongoing speculation, he remains committed to Alabama.
“I’m still committed. Just looking around, just seeing what other schools got to offer to just make sure I made the right decision for my future,” Rogers said in an interview to Touchdown Alabama.
Known as "Turbo" for his remarkable quickness, Rogers proved his explosive capabilities in Carver-Montgomery’s season-opening win over Vestavia Hills, amassing 162 total yards and a touchdown.
He is ranked by On3 Industry Rankings as the No. 128 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 5 running back in the 2025 class and the No. 9 recruit in Alabama.
