Four-star offensive lineman Jackson Lloyd has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide. The decision marks Alabama's seventh commitment in the last three weeks.

Lloyd received his offer from Alabama on Jan. 15, just three days after Kalen DeBoer's hiring, making him the first recruit to receive an offer post-Nick Saban. The offer signaled Alabama's continued intent to maintain its dominance in college football.

Lloyd's official visit to Alabama during the weekend of June 14 seemed to have solidified his decision, leading him to shut down his recruitment ahead of a scheduled visit to USC. On Tuesday afternoon, he shared his commitment news, posting:

"COMMITTED 🐘 #ROLLTIDE"

This announcement propels Alabama's 2025 recruiting class, which ranks third in the 247Sports composite ratings, trailing only Ohio State and Notre Dame. Lloyd's commitment brings the total number of pledges in Alabama’s 2025 class to 17, joining fellow offensive linemen Mal Waldrep and Michael Carroll.

The 247Sports Composite lists Lloyd as the No. 17 prospect in California, the No. 19 offensive tackle and the No. 146 prospect in the 2025 class. On3 ranked him as the No. 29 player in the country, the No. 6 offensive tackle in the 2025 cycle and the No. 1 player in California.

The Crimson Tide's 2025 class features 12 four-star recruits and four three-star recruits. They also remain in strong contention for five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood and four-star in-state offensive lineman Micah DeBose.

Jackson Lloyd's commitment is discussed by his father

Jackson Lloyd chose Alabama over Ohio State, USC, Tennessee, Oregon and Stanford. His decision came after an official visit to the program over the weekend of June 14, with Alabama offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic serving as his primary recruiter.

Lloyd managed several trips to Alabama, including a notable visit in late January. His commitment was strongly influenced by these visits and the impression made by the program and its staff, as revealed by his father, Ryan Lloyd, to BamaOnLine.

“The main reasons were the history of the program,” Mr. Lloyd said. “Development in the program.
"The possibility of bettering himself in the future and being surrounded by very highly motivated, like-minded people. The coaching staff is, obviously, the best in the world. That pretty much sums it up."

Ryan Lloyd noted how he likened Alabama football to a favorite toy that continually improves to help his son reach a conclusion, while revealing the family's excitement following the decision.

“Everyone, my wife included as well as Jackson, was very, very excited. His little sister is probably the biggest Alabama supporter in the world, and she was over the moon.”

When asked about the consideration given to Ohio State, where Jackson had also visited, Lloyd Senior acknowledged the Buckeyes as a strong contender but noted that Alabama was just too perfect for them.

Jackson LIoyd is a standout in basketball and baseball as well. As a junior on the basketball court, he averaged 15.0 points per game, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks, earning first-team all-league and all-county honors.
