Julian Lewis, one of the best quarterbacks in the Class of 2025, committed to the USC Trojans in August 2023. However, other teams are still in the hunt to flip his commitment. Programs such as the Colorado Buffaloes, Georgia Bulldogs and Auburn Tigers are at the top of the list of teams looking to convince Lewis to break his committment to USC.
According to On3, the Bulldogs have the best odds of flipping Lewis' allegiance, with a 21.4% chance of doing so. However, Deion Sanders' Colorado is also has a very legitimate shot at acquiring the star quarterback from Carrollton, Georgia. The Tigers only have a 9.6% chance of flipping Lewis' commitment.
Amidst all the decommitment rumors, Lewis posted on his X, formerly known as Twitter, account about his attitude towards the future:
The caption of the post read:
"My goal is not to be better than anyone else but to be better than I used to be."
The four-star quarterback is currently ranked No.36 in the country and is the seventh-best player at his position in the class, as per On3. He is also the fifth-best overall prospect from the state of Georgia.
Julian Lewis takes another visit to Colorado
Carrollton High School's four-star quarterback, Julian Lewis, visited Boulder for Colorado's game against Cincinnati on Saturday, October 26. It was his fourth visit to the Buffaloes' campus despite his commitment to the USC Trojans.
"Colorado has a lot of energy," Lewis said, as per 247Sports. "Coach Prime is super positive and motivating. Talking to coach [Pat] Shurmur and Shedeur [Sanders], they want me to make the best decision for me, but made it clear that I have the opportunity to play early."
However, the 6-foot-tall quarterback is still strongly connected with the Trojans. There are no signs of him wanting to decommit from Lincoln Riley's side. USC's Class of 2025 is currently ranked ninth in the country, as per 247Sports. The Trojans have landed 23 commitments so far, including five-star prospect Jerome Myles.
On the other hand, Colorado's Class of 2025 is ranked No.79, according to 247Sports. The Buffaloes have landed only 10 commitments and will have to work hard to acquire as many recruits as possible before the commitment deadline.
Julian Lewis has led his team to a record of 10-0 this season. He has had a phenomenal year, throwing for 2,549 yards, 36 touchdowns and only four interceptions while completing 76.6% of his pass attempts. He has a quarterback rating of 144.3 this season.
