Efeosa Oliogu, the four-star Canadian recruit from the class of 2025, made his commitment to the Butler Bulldogs official on Tuesday. The Willam Academy player ranks at the 78th position nationally, 19th in the small forward position, and first in Ontario.

Oliogu took to Instagram to confirm his commitment in a collaborated post with On3's Joe Tipton:

"4⭐️ Efeosa Oliogu has committed to Butler, he tells @on3recruits🐶The 6-6 Small Forward is a Top-80 recruit in the 2025 class," the caption said.

The Canadian had plenty of offers from top programs, including Providence, Missouri, Maryland, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Mississippi State, and Syracuse, among others. The 6-foot-6 took official visits to several colleges, including Butler. He talked to On3 about his decision, stating that he felt at home.

"I chose Butler University because when I went there right away I felt like I was at home," Oliogu said. "The community there isn’t too big but they will definitely make you feel like you belong. Basketball wise and school wise, I love how they run things over there."

He also commended coach Thad Matta:

"Coach Matta and his staff were definitely very important in my decision-making. The system they run there is definitely somewhere where I can see myself develop not only basketball wise but as a person as well."

On3's Jamie Shaw described him as a shifty wing in his scouting report:

“Efeosa Oliogu has a physically developed frame with strength and explosive burst," Shaw said. "The 6-6 wing has a shifty balance with the ability to attack the rim in the half-court and in transition."

Shaw also talked about the areas the Canadian needs to work on while commending his instincts:

"Has solid instincts off the ball and plays well in the passing lanes. Like to see him clean up the pull-up off the bounce. Needs an overhaul on the jump shot overall, namely the shot load and the release."

Connor McCaffery's younger brother reacts to Efeosa Oliogu's commitment

Jack McCaffery, younger brother of the Bulldogs assistant coach Connor McCaffery, who also committed to the team on July 29, 2024, took to Instagram to post a two-word reaction to Oliogu's commitment to Butler.
