Four-star tight end DaSaahn Brame is going to announce his commitment at the end of this month. He was initially considering six programs: Tennessee, Ole Miss, Oregon, Alabama, LSU, and Oklahoma. However, he has now revealed his top three list, with the Oklahoma Sooners emerging as a frontrunner.
Brame's relationship with Oklahoma has been really strong, as he has visited Norman approximately half a dozen times. He also plays 7-on-7 football with Sooner7, a team that features some of Oklahoma's top high school talent. During a trip to Tulsa in March for a 7-on-7 tournament, he made an unofficial stopover in Norman to meet with Oklahoma's head coach, Brent Venables.
Brame's top three teams are Oklahoma, Oregon, and Tennessee.
“When I commit on June 29, it is not going to be an easy decision. Oklahoma moved up quite a bit and it is tight up there for me with them, Oregon and Tennessee."
Brame is ranked as the No. 102 overall prospect and the No. 5 tight end in the 2025 recruiting class by 247Sports. The On3 Industry Ranking lists him as the No. 94 overall prospect, the No. 3 tight end, and the No. 4 recruit from Kansas.
The talented prospect recorded 46 receptions for 942 yards, averaging 20.5 yards per catch and scored 13 touchdowns in his junior season. His father, Da'Von Brame, played linebacker, while his mother, Nicky Ramage-Brame, was a member of the women's basketball team.
DaSaahn Brame breaks down his positive Oklahoma experience
DaSaahn Brame's recruitment journey led him to Norman, where the Oklahoma Sooners showed their program's appeal during his official visit on June 7. He also sensed the opportunity for immediate impact as a freshman.
“What stood out was that it’s really a family feel there and the culture is amazing,” DaSaahn Brame said (via On3). “That and how much of an impact I could come in as a freshman. This was a great visit to Oklahoma and it really helped them with me. They really moved up my list.”
With former Sooners tight end Joe Jon Finley now serving as the team's co-offensive coordinator, Oklahoma has emerged as a serious contender for Brame's commitment. The chance to be part of a program with a rich football tradition has seemingly influenced his decision-making process.
“It was great to spend more time with the coaches, pick the brains of some players and I left feeling good about Oklahoma.”
DaSaahn Brame also made official visits to the Ole Miss Rebels and the LSU Tigers before he visited Oklahoma. He also has upcoming official visits scheduled for Tennessee on June 13 and Oregon on June 21.
