In a significant development for Nebraska football, four-star wide receiver Isaiah Mozee committed to the Cornhuskers on Friday, flipping his pledge from Oregon. The Lee’s Summit North standout had initially committed to the Ducks in April, but Nebraska's persistent pursuit, spearheaded by coach Matt Rhule, ultimately swayed him.

“Matt Rhule is my type of guy!” Mozee told On3’s Steve Wiltfong. “He is genuine. He knows how to treat people, surrounds himself with great people, and is dedicated to his goals. He believes in his goals and he works hard for them.”

Mozee’s decision marks a pivotal addition to Nebraska's 2025 recruiting class, which now includes five four-star commitments. This move propels the Huskers up three spots to No. 27 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Last season, Nebraska ranked No. 24 nationally and seventh in the Big Ten.

A crucial factor in the 6-foot, 200-pound Mozee’s decision was the hiring of his father, Jamar Mozee, as a senior football assistant at Nebraska. Jamar brings a wealth of experience, having previously been the winningest coach in Lee's Summit North history and recently serving at UCF. His off-field role at Nebraska, particularly under new NCAA rule changes, allows more interaction with players.

Despite Oregon’s depth at the wide receiver position, Isaiah Mozee saw an opportunity at Nebraska, where the 2025 class has only one other receiver commitment, a three-star from Kansas. The presence of freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola, a five-star recruit, also played a role in Mozee’s decision.

Isaiah Mozee finds "family" atmosphere in Nebraska

Isaiah Mozee is thrilled about his decision to join Nebraska’s 2025 recruiting class. After flipping his commitment from Oregon, Mozee sees a bright future in Lincoln, largely influenced by the program’s recent recruitment success, especially at the quarterback position.

“Nebraska got Dylan Raiola, that was big,” Mozee said. “That opens your eyes. They’re changing something.”

Raiola’s addition, along with Elite 11 quarterback TJ Lateef in the 2025 class, signaled to Mozee that the Cornhuskers are making significant strides.

Isaiah Mozee's excitement about Nebraska's direction grew during his June official visit and a follow-up trip in late July, where he spent time with other recruits, current players and coaches. A highlight was getting to know freshman quarterback Raiola better.

“He’s a cool dude,” Mozee said. “It’s great just being around him. He’s a great guy.”

The relationships Mozee has built over the past year with Nebraska's coaching staff and players have made the program feel like home.

“Everything is about family here at Nebraska,” Mozee said. “Coach Matt Rhule is a family guy. I know that there is a family here and I would be alright.”

Last season, Isaiah Mozee recorded 74 receptions for 1,033 yards, averaging 14 yards per catch and scored 12 touchdowns. He joins fellow wide receivers Jackson Carpenter and Bryson Hayes as key Huskers' 2025 class components.
