After throwing away their 14-game winning streak to a tough loss against Roosevelt High School, St John Bosco has bounced back to kickstart the year with a much-desired win. At the center of Thursday's victory over O'Connor was five-star prospect Christian Collins, who ended the game with an impressive 22 points and 14 rebounds.

The match, which ended in a 58-42 victory for the Braves, started with a 3-point field goal from 6-foot-6 junior Max Ellis, which was followed by two free throws by Christian Collins. O'Connor's Colton Watson then managed a free throw in response, but the Braves quickly went on a 9-point scoring run after that. The Eagles then registered another three points towards the end of the first quarter to end with a 14-4 scoreline.

By halftime, the Braves had stretched their lead by another three points and they added another three points in the third quarter, heading into the fourth with a comfortable 16-point cushion. From there on, they stayed in control and held their ground to seal the game with a 16-point lead.

With this win, St. John Bosco is now on a 15-1 record this season. They will be hoping to build momentum with this win and earn another victory when they face Layton Christian Academy on Friday.

What's next for Christian Collins?

Five-star power forward Christian Collins has been crucial for the Braves this season, averaging 16.4 points and 12.3 rebounds per game. Being a class of 2026 prospect, he's yet to announce his commitment to any college programs but has 14 offers on the table.

According to On3 predictions, USC is currently ahead in the race to secure his commitment with a 60.3% chance. Next in line are UCLA and Stanford, who have a 4.8% and 4.1% chance, respectively.

Being a 2026 prospect, the high school junior still has the luxury of time and would probably not be making any commitment announcement soon. For now, he will be focused on helping the Braves as they face Layton Christian Academy.
