Nate Ament, a five-star prospect from Highland School in Virginia, is continuing his search for the school he will play for next year. After visiting Duke and Texas, the 6-foot-9 forward will visit Louisville next and then Tennessee.
His official visit to Louisville is scheduled for Friday. He will then take a trip to Knoxville and officially visit the University of Tennessee on Oct. 19.
Other teams that are trying to recruit Ament include Virginia Tech, Kentucky, Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgia, Bryant, Creighton, Florida State, George Mason, Illinois and UConn.
Nate Ament won the 2024 FIBA Men's U18 AmeriCup as part of USA Basketball and is regarded as the No. 1 player in Virginia. On3 currently ranks him as the No. 3 prospect for the class of 2025 and the No. 4 recruit nationally by 247Sports Composite.
During his junior year with the Highland School Hawks, he averaged 19.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 3.7 assists per game. With the U-18 team, he scored 22 points across six games, including an 11-point performance against Belize in the group phase.
Nate Ament is the latest recruit to visit Louisville
Nate Ament was one of the first recruits to receive an offer from new Cardinals coach Pat Kelsey, who offered on April 23. His visit to the school will come after they host the No. 1 prospect in the 2026 class, Tyran Stokes.
The school has been busy recruiting since Kelsey took over the job in March, giving out a total of 27 scholarship offers to prospects from the class of 2025. However, Louisville has not yet secured any of them with 19 of the prospects remaining uncommitted.
They already had some high-profile official visits, including three 2025 prospects: five-star recruit Shelton Henderson and four-star recruits J.J. Mandaquit and Tre Singleton.
Henderson, a 6-foot-6 forward, is ranked the No. 1 player in Texas and No. 16 nationally. Like Ament, he also recently went to Texas for an official visit.
