Nate Ament, a highly touted 5-star forward, took to Instagram on Tuesday, sharing snaps of his November 9 visit to Notre Dame.
As soon as his visit to the Fighting Irish hit the web, it created a buzz amongst fans who lit up social media, speculating about his potential move in the comment section.
The standout forward from Highland School, whom Adam Finkelstein, director of scouting, has called “one of the best long-term prospects in the country,” showcased his time with the Fighting Irish looking comfortable in their Yellow and Blue.
However, while Ament seemed at ease with the Notre Dame vibe, hoops fans couldn't help jump to the foray with their opinion on his potential college choice.
One fan simply dismissed the idea that the 6-foot-9 forward would stick with the Irish, stating:
“We Know That Ain't Happening.”
Others echoed the same sentiment and chimed in with a clear preference for the young forward:
"Nah, bro, Duke is the move man”
And,
"Aye, the yellow and blue look good on you, but come to Duke with Boozer twins and Shelton."
However, a few fans added a different perspective to the discussion:
“Don't go to Duke to be behind their 7-foot guy.”
Also, one fan lightly pitched the Irish with a simple statement:
“Green looks so good on you.”
Another fan even threw a lighthearted comment:
"Rwanda is ready to welcome you."
Fans are eager to welcome Nate Ament to their preferred college, but which program will he pick?
Which college will Nate Ament pick?
The Fighting Irish have called Nate a ‘Unicorn’ on the court. If he picks Notre Dame, Ament will be the first 5-star recruit for the Fighting Irish in the 2025 Class.
However, the No. 4 nationally ranked player in the 2025 Class has other lucrative offers as well, including from Tennessee, Louisville, Kansas State, Connecticut, and more. Amongst these, Ament visited Tennessee on October 19 and Louisville on September 27.
It's still unclear which program is ahead in the race, but the On3 prediction machine has some hints as to where the young forward will be moving. Its Recruitment Prediction Machine has given Tennessee the biggest chance of 20.2% of landing Nate Ament.
Second in the race is Louisville, with 17.7% chances, and he recently visited Notre Dame, which is currently in third position with 15.2%.
Ament is expected to finalize the college in the late signing period that kickstarts on April 16.
