Elijah Griffin, a five-star prospect from the state of Georgia, announced his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs on Oct. 18. He chose the Kirby Smart-led program over other top schools such as South Carolina, Miami, USC and Alabama.

Griffin is set to officially announce his commitment on National Signing Day at 12:20 p.m. ET. He shared a post on his Instagram story and revealed his plan of signing with the Bulldogs on Wednesday.

"I will be signing Wednesday @ Savannah Christian 12:20 PM," Griffin wrote.

He also had a three-word message on his story.

"Everyone is welcome," Griffin captioned.

Elijah Griffin was the Savannah Christian Raiders' leader in sacks as he recorded 8.5 in nine games this season, per MaxPreps. He also tallied 53 tackles and was only behind his teammate Jaden Miles in that category.

He has had an excellent high school career, racking up 301 tackles and 44.0 sacks in four seasons. Griffin is ranked No. 5 nationally and the No. 1 recruit from his home state of Georgia, per On3. He is also the No. 1 defensive lineman in the Class of 2025.

Elijah Griffin spoke about the Georgia Bulldogs after his commitment

The Georgia Bulldogs were one of the earliest programs to extend an offer to five-star prospect Elijah Griffin. Kirby Smart made an offer to Griffin when he was in eighth grade, which has paid off as he pledged to Georgia in October.

He spoke about his decision to join Smart's program and also discussed the school's faith in him as a 13-year-old kid.

"Georgia took a chance on me as a 13-year-old," Griffin said on Oct. 18, via On3. "They could have waited longer or they could have never even offered me, but offering me that early changed me.
"That first offer from Georgia did a lot for me. Being able to stay home, go to Georgia and play for a program that took a chance on me first means a lot. Georgia has always had a special spot in my heart."

Georgia's Class of 2025 has landed 28 commitments and is ranked No.1 in the nation, per On3.
