The latest update to the rankings, the Week 8 team list, puts Prolific Prep at the top spot, up from their number 2 position in the Week 7 rankings. In the same vein, Columbus High School, who was last week's No. 3, now holds the second spot. Meanwhile, IMG Academy, last week's top-ranked team, has dropped to No. 3.

The remaining top five spots in the rankings are occupied by Montverde Academy and Utah Prep, who sit at No. 4 and 5, respectively. Montverde Academy moved up one spot from their No. 5 ranking last week, while Utah Prep dropped from No. 4.

Next on the list are Brewster Academy, Dynamic Prep, Roosevelt, Harvard-Westlake, and Gonzaga, who occupy sixth to tenth place on the ranking. San Antonio Brennan, CIA Bella Vista, Sunrise Christian, Link Academy, and Grayson took up eleventh to fifteenth place on the ranking.

Sunrise Christian made the biggest jump from last week's ranking, moving up three places from No. 16 in Week 7 to No. 13 in Week 8.

Conversely, St. John Bosco, who dropped from No. 14 in Week 7 to No. 18 in this week's ranking, had the biggest drop among the ranked teams. Also, Hoover entered the rankings at No. 25 at the expense of La Lumiere, who held the No. 20 spot in Week 7.

Prolific Prep (CA) is currently on an 18-3 record this season and hasn't lost any game since the previous ranking. In fact, the team is currently on an eleven-game winning streak and will be looking forward to extending it when they face Highland in their next game on Sunday.

"It was the coaching of Bill Self": Darryn Peterson shares why he chose Kansas

Five-star prospect Darryn Peterson committed to Kansas amidst 35 other college offers. In an interview with ON3, he stated that the Jayhawks' head coach, Bill Self, was a major influence in his decision:

"Ultimately, it was the coaching of Bill Self and the culture of their program. My heart and gut were with Kansas. I will have the opportunity to play right away as a freshman, prepare for the draft and be dialed into winning. I won't look back or ahead. I will be dialed in when I am there."

Alongside Peterson, three other class of 2025 prospects, Bryson Tiller, Samis Calderon, and Jaden Nickens, have also committed to the Jayhawks.
