Tuesday night was a night to remember for Holy Innocents Episcopal High School, but it wasn't because of its commanding 83-35 victory over Carver High School. Rather, it became a historic night for its star player, Caleb Wilson, who set a record for the most career points as a Golden Bear.
Caleb Wilson scored his 1,500th career point to break the previous mark of 1,499 by Garrison Powell. The five-star power forward entered the game knowing the record was within reach, and he didn't disappoint. He delivered 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Wilson has spent his whole high school basketball career with the school in Atlanta, and he's been a crucial player since the first day he stepped foot on the team.
As a freshman, he put up 324 points, averaging 16.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Wilson recorded 247 points as a sophomore and 665 points as a junior. As a senior, he's put up 264 points. He's averaging 19.3 points, 11.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists for the Bears (12-2).
Wilson wasn't the only player who reached a career milestone on Tuesday. Four-star junior Devin Hutcherson also reached a career milestone of 1,000 points while totaling 23 points and seven rebounds.
