The Oregon Ducks have received a huge commitment from five-star tight end Kendre Harrison, who is ranked No. 1 by Rivals and No. 6 by ESPN in the Class of 2026. Harrison confirmed on Saturday that he will attend Eugene. He is a dual-sport athlete who also plays basketball, ranking No. 38 on ESPN.
Rivals considered Oregon as the favorite to land Kendre Harrison's commitment since he had two visits to Eugene, Oregon over the summer. He even watched the game against Ohio State and met with head coach Dan Lanning and his staff.
"I’ve been in the recruiting process since the eighth grade and the relationships I’ve built with Oregon make everything feel right," Harrison told Rivals. "I love the staff and the style of use and play with the tight ends."
Kendre Harrison chose the Oregon Ducks over other programs, such as North Carolina, Penn State, Miami and Florida State. He said that the Ducks have been successful in producing tight ends and that the coaching staff has maintained a "consistent focus" on the offensive side.
"I’ve known where I was going for a while now," ge told Rivals. "They honestly just did the small, extra-mile things that other schools didn’t. Just always keeping in contact and making sure our relationship is tight."
He will be just the second player from the Class of 2026 to commit to the Oregon Ducks, with five-star OT Kodi Greene previously announcing his commitment to the program. Oregon now has six players in the Top 150 and five are in the Top 100.
Kendre Harrison intends to play both basketball and football at Oregon
Kendre Harrison has shown that he is great not just on the football field, but also on the basketball court, and he intends to play both while in Oregon.
While he is a five-star tight end for football, he is a four-star power forward in basketball, according to ESPN's rankings. As a basketball player, he also received offers to play the sport exclusively at Wake Forest, FSU and Texas A&M.
He averaged 21.5 points per game and 15.1 rebounds per game as a power forward at Reidsville. As a football player, he played both TE and DE and caught 17 passes for 263 yards and five touchdowns on offense while totaling 92 tackles (24 TFL), 16 QBH, nine sacks and three PBU on defense.
