Jerzy Robinson, the No. 3 prospect in the 2026 girls' high school basketball class, has reacted to LeBron James’ son Bryce James’ college announcement. After weeks of speculation, Bryce announced on New Year’s Day that he would be playing college basketball at the University of Arizona.
James surprised many by choosing the Wildcats ahead of Duquesne and Ohio State, who were the favorites, as per On3's predictions. Nonetheless, Robinson took to her Instagram page to congratulate Bryce on his surprise announcement.
The 6-foot-0 point guard, who currently attends the same school as Bryce (Sierra CanyonHigh School in Los Angeles), reshared a post confirming Bryce’s decision on her IG story with the caption.
“Yeah 5.’
Robinson is just one of the latest basketball figures to congratulate Bryce as the likes of Chris Paul’s son, Jason Crowe Jr, Bronny James and others also sent their congratulations.
Bryce, who is ranked at No. 86 in the class of 2025, per 247Sports, will team up with top 25 prospect Dwayne Aristode at Arizona and could possibly play with Koa Peat, Alijah Arenas and Brayden Burries, who are all targets for Arizona.
Bryce James chooses to forge his own path
The James family are basketball royalty but Bryce's decision to choose Arizona for college basketball means he was not influenced by family tradition. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard could have gone for Ohio State as that is where the family has their roots and where he was born.
However, Bryce opted for Arizona which is different from the path his father LeBron took and also from his brother, Bronny James.
Unlike Bryce, LeBron was a generational talent, who was drafted straight from high school to the NBA. Meanwhile, Bronny, who is on the Los Angeles Lakers roster with his father, played college basketball at USC for one year before he was drafted in the 2024 NBA draft at No. 55.
Bryce has shared that he intends to follow in his father and brother’s footsteps, playing in the NBA and he has already shown good potential. However, it remains to be seen if he will share the court with LeBron James as Bronny did early in the season.
The 6-foot-6 shooting guard averaged 6.9 points and 2.2 rebounds in 14 games in the AAU League last summer. Bryce James also averaged 5.6 points with SFG at the Nike Peach Jam, including a five-star performance against NightRydas Elite, scoring 12 points in 23 minutes.
