Boston Celtics small forward Jayson Tatum won the 2024 NBA Championship in July and was also a part of Team USA who won the gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Prior to his NBA career, Tatum starred for the Duke Blue Devils and declared for the NBA Draft after just one season.

Tatum's journey began at the Chaminade College Prep in Creve Coeur, Missouri, where he drew inspiration from his senior, former Washington Wizards player Bradley Beal. From an early age, Tatum was recognized as a strong prospect. Last week, Courtside Films uploaded a video showcasing how explosive Tatum was even in the eighth grade.

During his freshman year, the 5x All-Star averaged 13.3 points and 6.4 rebounds. He was also named the 2013 Metro Catholic Conference (MCC) Co-Player of the Year. In his sophomore year, he averaged 26.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per contest, and as a junior, the 2017-18 All-Rookie averaged 25.9 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.

In 2015, Tatum played in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) and represented the St. Louis Eagles. During this time, he scored 26.5 points and grabbed 9.5 boards per game for his team.

Jayson Tatum led Chaminade College Prep to their second Missouri Class 5A state championship averaging 29.6 points and 9.1 rebounds, including six 40-point games.

Jayson Tatum Predicts 2025 NBA Finals

Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics had the upper hand in the 2024 NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. In the seven-game series, Tatum led the Celtics in every stat except steals and blocks.

He had 22.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per contest in the 2024 NBA Finals while averaging 40.2 minutes and shooting 38.8% from the field. In his appearance on the "Tonight Show," he predicted that the Celtics would have a rematch with the Dallas Mavericks in the 2025 NBA Finals:

"It's gonna be a rematch. We're gonna play Dallas again," Tatum said.

While Tatum gets ready for the next season, he stated that there is more to come from him and that we have not seen the "best version of Jayson Tatum." He spoke about this during an interview on media day:

"I just always feel like overall I can still get better," Tatum said. "You haven't seen like the best version of Jayson Tatum."

We are all excited to see what the 26-year-old has in the bag for us in the future.
