Adonis Ratliff, the Class of 2026 recruit who ranks 70th nationally, fifth in the center position and second in New York, talked about his future recently. He was in conversation with the director of operations at Phenom Hoops and national analyst Patrick O'Brien.
Ratliff discussed the interests he has received from colleges including Syracuse, Mississippi and Florida State:
"Recruitment has been pretty good lately," Ratliff said. "Syracuse and Mississippi State have been strongest as of lately, with new interest coming from Florida State. That's about it for right now; I know a lot of coaches have reached out to my coaches, but I haven't been in contact with them yet."
He represents Archbishop Stepinac (White Plains, NY) with his brother Darius Ratliff, who also plays below the rim.
In Stepinac's recent 78-58 win against the Monsignor Scanlan High School, the Ratliff brothers combined for 27 points. Adonia Ratliff had 18 points, five rebounds and two assists. His brother scored nine points, grabbed 12 rebounds, dished out five assists, cleared the board five times and had two steals to lead his team to the win.
The brothers also had a terrific outing last month in their dominant 91-58 win against Scarsdale where Darius Ratliff recorded a double-double. He had 12 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks while Adonis had 12 points and four rebounds.
Adonis Ratliff played 26 matches in the last season and posted averages of 2.1 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 0.3 apg, 0.2 spg and 0.8 bpg. He significantly improved his stats this season, having played 11 matches so far.
The White Plains, NY native is averaging 8.9 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.2 apg, 0.7 spg and 2.2 bpg for Archbishop Stepinac this season.
Adonis Ratliff talks about his game
While talking to Phenom Hoops Report, Adonis Ratliff described his game as an all-rounder:
“I would describe my game as someone who can do everything on the court when it comes to playmaking, shooting, or playing defense."
“I’m super excited to show the work I’ve put in and how I can put the ball on the floor at my size the way that most people can’t.”
While the 6-foot-11 center has not taken any visits yet, he talked about a few colleges he would like to visit:
“I would like to take visits to UCF, Ole Miss, Stanford, Syracuse and Miami.”
Ratliff still has another year before he makes a decision on his collegiate career.
