The four-star recruit from Sierra Canyon High School, Las Vegas, Nevada, has officially committed to Rutgers. Chris Nwuli, a 6-foot-7 power forward, ranks 41st in the 2025 ESPN 100 rankings. According to On3, Nuwlli ranks 26th in his position and ninth in California.

Nwuli visited the Scarlet Knights on Sep. 27 and announced his official commitment on Instagram on Oct. 21.

NCAAB insider and recruiting director for ESPN Paul Biancardi talked about the kind of player Rutgers is getting in a video uploaded on X (formerly Twitter):

"A special athlete, a vertical athlete. A great lob finisher. Someone who can switch on the defensive end. He runs the floor and transitions so well and he hits the offensive glass. His offensive game in the half court is still developing but you don't find athletes better than him."

Steve Pikiell's Rutgers also has the commitments of five-star recruits Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper and three-star recruits Lathan Sommerville, Bryce Dortch and Dylan Grant.

"I chose Rutgers because I love the way the coaching staff made me feel welcome, and the East Coast is where I want to be," Nwuli told ESPN. "I love the energy of the staff. Coach Pikiell breathes basketball, and he cares about his players. He is hard on his guys in practice and encourages them to be better players and people."

How good is Chris Nwuli?

The Sierra Canyon High School player played 17 games in his junior year, posting averages of 8.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 0.6 steals and 0.6 blocks per contest. With the addition to an already solid roster, where do you think Rutgers will finish next season in their conference?
