Katie Kuester is in her seventh season with Saint Joseph’s, playing a crucial role in player development and recruitment. She works closely with players, helping them refine their skills, and contributes to game strategy by overseeing video analysis. Under her leadership, SJU forwards Laura Ziegler and Talya Brugler made it to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference teams in 2023-24. Kuester’s connection to the Hawks runs deep; she was a star guard for the team from 2008 to 2012.
Her excellence in both sports and academics earned her Big 5 Scholar Athlete of the Year and secured a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team during her college career. On top of that, she was also one of the top shooters during her college days at SJU. During her career, she scored 167 three-pointers, ending up in the program's top 10 for the long-range shot.
Meanwhile, Lizzy Gruber, the 6-foot-4 center, is a sophomore at SJU. She joined the program in 2023 after graduating from Gardiner Area High School. At SJU, she hasn't played much till now, averaging only 0.4 points, 0.6 rebounds, 0.1 assists and 0.3 blocks per game. However, in high school, she was a force to be reckoned with on the court.
