Famous basketball page Ballislife took to Instagram to post a comparison between 2024's No. 1 recruit and Duke freshman Cooper Flagg and the BYU signee AJ Dybantsa, asking who would be the No. 1 recruit if they were in the same class:
The hoops fans took to the comments section to give their opinions on the question.
"AJ is NBA ready in a few months he cold no doubt, but We’re comparing a guy who hit Duke campus playing best teams at 17 and was only non NBA player on Olympic practice team, to a high schooler about to go to BYU and will play regular guys cmon," commented a fan.
Another fan commented, "Question would be if you need help now or long term investment… Coop is doing and has done similar things against grown men. AJ is a generational talent with seemingly unlimited potential and upside…"
"I feel like AJ will end up being the better scorer but Coop might end up being better all around. It’s hard to tell and the possibilities for either hooper are endless," a fan commented.
More fans joined the conversation:
"every talkin bout the points but cooper really is great at defense as well," commented a fan.
Another fan commented, "Cooper is way more polished and has a pace and inside outside game that is ready now …"
"It’s a reason Coop reclassified 😁," a fan commented.
