Utah Prep small forward and five-star BYU commit AJ Dybantsa is one of the most athletically gifted high school basketball players out there today. His athleticism was on full display during last summer's Nike EYBL Peach Jam as he played for the Oakland Soldiers. 'Ballislife' has posted a highlight from his performance against Mokan Elite, where he went off with one of his best dunks.
The athleticism that Dybantsa showed has wowed many people, including that up-and-under dunk featured in the video where the No. 1 ranked prospect from the class of 2025 evaded a defender in mid-air before dunking it. This has gotten fans talking in the comments section:
"Aj is him 🔥, "one fan commented.
"That thang was Fonky," another commenter wrote.
"oh yea he tuff," another fan said.
Other commenters were just in awe of what Dybantsa could do in the court. One person even noted that he could do even better dunks than what was shown during the video:
"Avg dunk for him bro 😭," one person pointed out.
"Tough bucket getta," another fan said.
"too cold🥶," a fan commented.
Together with former Prolific Prep teammate Tyran Stokes, Dybantsa led the Oakland Soldiers to the finals of the Nike EYBL Peach Jam last summer. In the end, they fell to the eventual champions, Nightridas Elite, which is led by the Boozer twins, Cameron and Cayden, the sons of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer.
AJ Dybantsa and Utah Prep back to winning ways after 2-game losing streak
AJ Dybantsa and Utah Prep started the month of December with a two-game losing streak, which began with that upset from Dream City Christian National on Dec. 6 and then that thriller against No. 3 ranked Kansas commit Darry Peterson and Prolific Prep. Now, they are back in the win column with a five-game winning streak.
Their winning streak began against Duncanville on Dec. 14 with an 84-70 win. They then traveled to Hawaii for the Iolani Classic from Dec. 18-21. They first took care of local teams Kahuku and Iolani before a thriller against Brewster Academy National in the semifinals, 45-43, and the winning against Oak Hill Academy in the final, 63-52.
Utah Prep still has several big games coming up, including one against Jermaine O'Neal Jr. and Dynamic Prep on Jan. 10 and against defending national champion Montverde Academy on Jan. 19.
