Alijah Arenas' mother, Laura Govan, enjoys expressing her opinions and feelings on social media. The 'Basketball Wives' star posted an Instagram story featuring Jamie Foxx on Wednesday. Laura was full of pride following the premiere of Foxx's Netflix Special, "Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was..."
"I'm so proud to call you my friend. I've known you since I was 13. I'm proud of you and I thank you for always making me a part of the family! @imajamiefoxx, proud of you🦊," she wrote.
The OTT special, directed by Hamish Hamilton, premiered on Netflix on December 10. In the show, the $170 million comedian opens up about his mystery illness, which he suffered in April 2023. Foxx shared more about his near-death experience with fans, in what is his first comedy special since 2003. He also thanked the medical staff and everybody involved in saving his life.
"God blessed me with this talent, He blessed me with all this money and all this fame, and when I forgot about God, He blessed me with a stroke," he spoke.
In addition, Jamie talked about his spiritual journey, his family and Sean 'Diddy' Combs in the show. He said he wanted his fans to see him fully recovered and strong:
"I didn’t want you to see me like that, I wanted you to see me like this," he said.
Laura Govan Attends Grammy Winner Usher's Concert
