With Christmas just around the corner, Alijah Arenas' mother, Laura Govan, prepared for it by going on a shopping spree. Govan is a proud mother who regularly fangirls over her four children: Alijah, Hamiley, Aloni and Izela. She often makes headlines for her bold and witty remarks and shares her life updates with her fans on social media.

On Monday, she shared a snap of herself on her Instagram story with an armful of shopping bags, signaling that her Christmas prep is in high gear.

"My 3rd Car Run. For my favourite holiday," she captioned the story.

Laura Govan is an actress who starred in an array of TV shows, including "Almost Amazing" and "JC Tha Barber." She was also featured on VH1's TV series "Basketball Wives," which chronicles the life of partners of professional basketball players.

On Saturday, Govan rejoiced in Alijah's impressive performance against Western Christian at the Capital City Classic in Salem, with one of his moves leaving a defender with an impressive ankle breaker.

Although Chatsworth lost the game 70-60, Alijah's impressive performance grabbed eyeballs. He recorded 37 points, with two rebounds and two steals. Other team members also contributed, including Taj Unuakhalu, who scored nine points, had 16 rebounds and two blocks, and Tekeio Phillips, who had nine points with two assists. For the 2024 season, this was Chatsworth High School's first defeat.

Laura Govan's son Alijah Arenas reclassified to the Class of 2025

Alijah Arenas was a five-star prospect from the Class of 2026, hailed as the fourth-best player nationally, per On3. However, in early December, reports said Alijah had been reclassified to the Class of 2025.

Gilbert Arena, Alijah's father, made the announcement on Dec. 2 on his NBA Watch Party stream.

"We're reclassing up right now. I think they just approved it today. This is his senior year now," Gilbert said.

With such amazing talent, universities are drooling to take Arenas in. Until now, Arenas has received offers from UCLA, Arizona and Washington State, among others.

In an interview with On3, he talked about the factors he will consider when selecting his college.

“For college, the atmosphere and the crowd is kind of the number one thing I’m looking for. That helps the team so much,” Alijah said. “I’m going to look at who I think can take my game to the next level, which is pro. I’ll look at player development and who I think will develop me the best.”

He also spoke about his views on UCLA's athletic environment.

"The atmosphere there was crazy,” Alijah said. “When I walked into that game, I was not expecting that type of intense crowd. That really helped the team. The facilities are very pro-like there. You have the best help and you have the best treatment there."

Arenas also expressed his views on his father's alma mater, Arizona.

“My relationship with the staff is great there, we’re cool,” Alijah said. “They love my dad there and I love them. I’m trying to build as many relationships as I can as I go through this process. But, Arizona feels like home. They move at a great pace. They play together and as a team.”

Alijah Arenas has not committed to any university yet, and everyone is watching closely for his pick.
