Alijah Arenas' mom Laura Govan shares a funny meme with 2-word caption on how parenting has changed her over the years

Laura Govan, mother of the Arenas siblings, took to Instagram to share her thoughts about parenting. She usually shares posts and stories about her children. They are either proud mother moments at her children’s achievements or adorable candid videos and photos of her time with the children.

On Dec. 8, Govan posted a meme on her Instagram story. The meme shows the contrast between the parenting adopted these days and what parenting used to be. In the first half of the meme, a parent is seen seemingly scolding a young child as the child shuts his eyes and looks annoyed.

The text on it reads, “Parenting in 2024.” In contrast, the second half shows a heavily injured boxer from a movie scene being helped by two other people. “Me after talking back to my mom in 1984,” the text on the second half reads.

The proud mother shared her appreciation for her son through Instagram. Govan wrote:

Alijah Arenas, the 6-foot-6 top prospect, impressed everyone with his sharp shooting and smooth footwork as he effortlessly maneuvered past the defenders on the court.

This performance was not the only one. Alijah has consistently given impressive performances, which include a jaw-dropping 56 points in an overtime loss at the Damien Classic and 43 points in a game against Etiwanda.
