The No. 1 prospect of the Class of 2025, Aaliyah Chavez, has reached another milestone. In Monterey's dominant 74-43 win against Lubbock on Tuesday, Chavez scored 48 points to reach the 40th position on the all-time high school scoring list.
Chavez took her tally to 4,062 points, moving ahead of Brittany Johnson (Northwestern assistant), who scored 4,031 points in four years for Richland County (Olney, III), according to Max Preps.
Chavez had crossed the 4000-point mark last week.

Aaliyah Chavez opens up about coaching preferences
Aaliyah Chavez has received offers from top programs, including LSU, Michigan, Texas Tech, South Carolina and USC. She trimmed her list to 10 colleges, which included Arizona, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas Tech, UCLA and USC on Oct. 2.
While talking to On3, Chavez discussed the kind of coach she wants to play under:
"I don’t want a coach that’s low energy, and I need to make sure that they’re going to be there the whole time. I don’t want a coach that’s just going to be there for two years … I want them to be there all four years."
According to On3's recruitment prediction machine, Texas Tech has a 32.5% chance of landing the Lubbock, TX native. They are followed by Texas (28.4%) and LSU (24.4%).
