Center Valley, Pennsylvania's four-star tight end, Andrew Olesh, has committed to head coach Sherrone Moore and the Michigan Wolverines. He is considered one of the top tight ends in the 2025 class, and will enter his senior season with high expectations.
According to On3's rankings director Charles Power, Olesh—who stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 220 pounds—boasts the athleticism and size that make him a formidable presence on the field.
"He certainly has the frame to add extra weight. He’s a plus athlete at his size. This is a guy who tested well at the All22 camp at State College, running an electronic 4.6. You see the athleticism transfer to the field on Friday nights," Power said in a player breakdown for On3.
Power noted that NFL and college teams prioritized separation at the position, which aligned well with Olesh's skills. He added:
"I think that’s where Andrew Olesh makes a statement as a tight end prospect. He has an excellent change of direction. He projects as a high end route runner... His receiving ability with his ability to separate in the middle of the route, win at the catch point and pick up yards after the catch translates really well at tight end."
During his junior season, Olesh proved his receiving prowess as he recorded 53 catches for 972 yards and 10 touchdowns. He primarily lined up as an outside receiver and showed his caliber as a pass-catching tight end.
He is currently ranked by 247Sports as the No. 2 player in Pennsylvania and the No. 4 tight end in the 2025 class. They also listed him as the No. 84 overall prospect. Meanwhile, On3 placed him as the No. 3 player in the state, the No. 3 tight end in the class and the No. 67 prospect.
Looking into Andrew Olesh's fit with the Wolverines
On Monday, the Wolverines had their best recruiting day in Moore's era as they landed both Olesh and four-star safety Ivan Taylor. Olesh picked Michigan over Florida State, Penn State, Alabama, Missouri and Florida.
"This is a big pickup for Michigan,” Power said.
Olesh is the second tight end commitment for Michigan's 2025 class and the fourth-highest-rated recruit according to 247Sports. Based on Power's report, Olesh's skillset aligned with Michigan's tight end-friendly offense that was established by former head coach Jim Harbaugh. He will slot into the Wolverines' current tight end roster headlined by potential top NFL draft pick Colston Loveland.
"I think this is a situation and fit that is very favorable for both sides with Andrew Olesh having such a translatable skillset, and Michigan having an offense that is very favorable for tight ends," Power added in his report.
Behind the scenes, tight ends coach Steve Casula facilitated the Southern Lehigh High School star's commitment. The recruiting prowess of Michigan's new defensive backs coach, LaMar Morgan, is also laudable, as he already ensured the pledges of four-star safety prospects Ivan Taylor and Kainoa Winston.
These moves bolstered the program's standing, which was made evident by their growing 2025 recruiting class. As of this writing, they currently have 15 commits.
