Marcus Johnson, the No. 32 overall prospect in the Class of 2026, committed to Ohio State on April 10. He is also the No. 5 point guard in his class and the No. 2 prospect in Ohio, per On3.

Basketball photographer and videographer TKP, who goes by the Instagram username t.k.productionz, posted some highlights of the Garfield Heights High School guard on Monday, calling him the "shiftiest guard in America."

While the highlights showed Johnson scoring over defenders with his solid footwork, hoops fans took to the comments section to give their reactions as they disagreed with the caption.

"Anybody could do these moves," a fan commented.
"i mean, you're just filling the player with unnecessary expectations. don't get me wrong, he looks great on the floor but these moves don't get you the title of "shiftiest player" he's good but a player wouldn't be one of the top prospects if he isn't able to move like this. You gotta stop with these unnecessary captions man," another fan commented.
"I wouldn’t say shiftiest but he know how to get to his spots. 🔥," a fan wrote.

However, some praised Johnson skills.

"Yall saying anybody could do the moves but everyone NOT. And not at an elite level. This kid can read defenses very well and move accordingly. If everyone could do it then everyone would be mentioned heavily," a fan wrote.
"Getting to them spots , love it 🤝," one fan said.
"Facts," another fan commented.

Johnson was named the 2023-24 Gatorade Player of the Year Boys Basketball - Ohio after he recorded 23.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

Why did Marcus Johnson choose Ohio State?

Marcus Johnson received offers from Cincinnati, Villanova, Alabama and Illinois, among others. He committed to Ohio State after two unofficial visits.

The Class of 2026 guard talked about his decision with On3:

“I chose Ohio State state due to Jake Diebler’s recruiting process with me, showing love and going hard for me," Johnson said in April. "Also, Ohio State has always been my dream school since a kid and I want to stay home.”

Dorian Jones, another Cleveland area prospect will join Johnson at Ohio State.
