The Arizona Wildcats and head coach Tommy Lloyd have received their first commitment in the 2025 recruiting class. Hailing from Amsterdam, Netherlands, Dwayne Aristode picked the Wildcats over USC, Duke and Michigan State. The four-star recruit ranks at the 18th spot nationally, sixth in his position, and at the first spot in New Hampshire.
Aristode committed to the Arizona Wildcats officially through a post on Instagram:
Playing basketball for Brewster Academy, Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, Aristode played 26 games and scored 12 points, 2.6 assists, 5.1 rebounds, 1 steal and 0.7 blocks per game while averaging 27.3 minutes per contest. He also played for Expressions Elite in the Nike EYBL after spending three years in Spain, playing for Joventut Badalona.
In his last three matches at the Nike EYBL, Aristode scored 12 points in a win against Rotary Rebels; 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists in a win against AZ Unity; and 17 points, 7 assists in a win over MeanStreets. Furthermore, the 17-year-old made his international debut and has been showing immense promise, being counted as one of the best talents in Europe. He talked about this with ESPN:
"Representing my country was a dream come true," Aristode said. "The pace and physicality were very different. I needed that experience playing against a three-time MVP in Nikola Jokic to see where my game is and where I want to go personally. I want to help the Netherlands become one of the best teams in the world in the future."
With the official commitment, the Wildcats have moved up to the second rank in Big-12 recruitment, increasing their class score by 2.38 and bringing it to 93.65 (according to On3).
