The Texas Longhorns had the top recruiting class of 2025, according to Rivals.com. The recruiting tracking platform announced this via an Instagram post on Wednesday. The post has garnered several reactions on the platform, with both Texas fans and rival fans expressing their views in the comment section.

A fan made a sarcastic comment, pointing out that the Longhorns were at least No. 1 in something, writing:

“At least they’re number one in something.”

Another fan commented:

“At least y’all got a recruiting championship.”

Here are other fan reactions:

“This bout the only thing they do good.”

Texas fans are convinced the ranking is a sign that their coach is doing something right. One fan wrote:

“There’s a reason why Georgia state representatives were crying for Texas to leave the SEC and go back to the Big 12. It’s because Sark is turning Texas into a monster program.”

However, Georgia fans emphasized how they defeated the Texas Longhorns twice in 2024. One fan was quick to remind Texas fans of the fact, writing:

“Dawgs beat you twice.”
“Gotta do something about the team that beat you twice this year!,” another fan wrote.

Reviewing the Texas Longhorns 2025 recruiting class

The Texas Longhorns 2025 recruiting class is also ranked No. 1 by 247Sports and On3. Steve Sarkisian’s goal to establish the program as a top contender in the SEC was strongly expressed in the team’s performance in 2024.

The Longhorns only came short of the SEC championship by three points in the championship game against Georgia, despite being first-timers in the conference.

However, a bigger statement of his commitment to this goal was seen in his 2025 recruiting class, landing 25 commits overall. The class, headlined by five-star safety Jonah Williams, has four five-star signees (as per On3).

With 72% of the class being blue-chip recruits, perhaps the Longhorns’ most impressive feat is sourcing 60% of these talents in-state. The Texas Longhorns are only a step towards establishing their program as one of the football powerhouses of the SEC. If they can beat Georgia and Alabama at recruiting, they can beat them on the field.
