New Auburn running back signee Alvin Henderson expressed his excitement on Instagram for family member and Alabama native Emmanuel Henderson Jr.'s commitment to Kansas.

Alvin Henderson posted a story of a graphic announcing Emmanuel Henderson Jr.'s commitment to Kansas and captioned the post with emojis of star eyes and a handshake to sum up his excitement.

Emmanuel Henderson Jr. is a former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver. He totaled five catches for 96 yards at Alabama but heavily contributed on special teams, appearing in 34 games.

With the transfer portal opening, Henderson opened his recruitment and ultimately committed to the Kansas Jayhawks with one season of eligibility remaining.

Kansas is coming off a 5-7 record and a 10th-place finish in the Big 12.

Alvin Henderson out of Elba High School in Alabama is rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 12 player in the state of Alabama by 247Sports. He held over 40 offers from schools like Alabama, Georgia and Texas A&M.

The 5-foot-9, 200-pound running back has quick feet and elusiveness in the open field. Henderson can also run between the tackles and shed defenders with his strength. Alvin has breakaway speed and outruns would-be tacklers after getting through the second level of the defense. His combination of size and speed creates an advantage against smaller linebackers.

Alvin Henderson had a productive high school football career, totaling 10,894 yards and 193 touchdowns rushing while having 11 receptions for 248 receiving yards and two TDs. In 2023 he was named the Alabama Class 1A back of the year and a MaxPreps Junior All-American. He was selected to play in the Navy All-American Bowl. He's projected to make an immediate impact at Auburn.

Auburn recruiting breakdown

Auburn has the No. 6 recruiting class in 2025, according to 247Sports. Its class includes 25 signees, two of whom are five-star prospects while having a plethora of four-star recruits. Auburn also has the fourth-ranked transfer class by 247Sports, and it includes 14 transfers.

The Auburn Tigers finished the 2024 season with a 5-7 record, landing 14th in the SEC. But despite their record, they've still made waves in the recruiting process.
