Kaden Magwood becomes Bruce Pearl's and Auburn's second commitment in the Class of 2025 after they recruited the No. 154 prospect (per On3) Simon Walker on Sep. 26. Magwood took to Instagram to make his commitment official on Nov. 13.
Magwood visited Auburn on Sep. 28 and chose them over Georgia Tech, Memphis Tigers, Ole Miss, NC State and Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

Magwood ranks at the 62 spot nationally, 15th in the shooting guard position and No. 2 in North Carolina. The 6-foot-1 guard received a consensus four-star ranking from On3, ESPN, 247Sports and Rivals.
National Basketball Recruiting Analyst at On3, Jamie Shaw commended Magwood's shooting abilities (per On3):
“Kaden Magwood is a volume scorer. When he is locked in, he is capable of ringing off numerous baskets in a short span of time. He has a solid handle and an understanding of space and good footwork. He is capable of manufacturing himself a clean shooting look in many situations."

While talking to On3, Magwood explained his decision to choose Auburn:
“I chose Auburn because they gave me the best feeling of a home environment. Coach BP (Bruce Pearl) and his staff have record of winning and they let their guards play."
How good is Kaden Magwood?
In an interview with 247Sports, Kaden Magwood stated that Auburn coach Bruce Pearl described him as a taller Sharife Cooper. Furthermore, the Louisville, KY native is a playmaking guard with the ability to convert shots and get points on the board. Auburn has three freshman guards in the name of Tahaad Pettiford, Joah Shay and Drake Cardwell.
In 2024, Kaden Magwood played three games in the Adidas Eurocamp, averaging 8 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 32% from the field.
In the 2023-24 season, Bruce Pearl led Auburn to win the SEC tournament and the Legends Classic championship in his 10th season as the head coach. They also finished with a 27-8, 13-5 record in the Southeastern Conference. However, they faced an upset against Yale in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
