On Thursday, Coach Sherrone Moore and Michigan got a big boost in their 2026 recruiting class after 4-star wide receiver Andrew Marsh committed to the program. The blue-chip prospect attends Katy Jordan High School in Texas.
Marsh received over 35 Division I offers and chose Michigan over notable programs like Colorado, Ohio State, Texas, Washington and USC. He becomes the No. 17 overall prospect and second receiver to join the Wolverines' 2026 recruiting class.
Michigan fans celebrated the commitment of the pass catcher on X, formerly Twitter.
"Good pickup for them tbh 💯," a fan tweeted.
"Michigan is getting a great football player and even better man! TPW! Go be great," one fan tweeted.
Washington made a late push to earn Marsh's commitment, but Michigan ultimately won the race. However, some fans pointed out that the Wolverines may not be the best fit for a receiver of Marsh's caliber.
"How many Michigan wide receivers are in the NFL?" One tweeted.
"Texas or usc would have been a way better choice," one fan tweeted.
"Guess he doesn’t want to play in a bowl game in college lol," one fan tweeted.
According to Rivals, Marsh possesses a rare combination of high vertical ability and strong hands. He has been a standout receiver throughout his high school career. During his junior season in 2023, Marsh caught 65 passes for 1,158 yards and 15 touchdowns. He amassed 149 catches for 2,414 yards and 31 touchdowns in high school.
Why did Andrew Marsh choose Michigan over other programs?
Andrew Marsh is ranked as the nation's No. 87 overall talent, the No. 12 wide receiver in the 2025 class, and the No. 16 recruit in Texas, per On3 composite ranking. He is the highest-rated wide receiver commit for the position coach, Ron Bellamy.
Marsh made multiple visits to Moore's program this year, the most recent being last month for the annual BBQ at The Big House. He said he committed to the Wolverines because of various key factors.
“The people, the history, the reputation and the ability to get to the next level are reasons why Michigan has always been up there,” Marsh said via On3.
Marsh’s mother, Eleanor, also lauded the welcoming environment at Michigan.
“They pretty much said ‘hey, this is like home and you guys have been here so many times, so let us know if there are there any questions we can address,’"Eleanor told On3. “It was almost like we were able to lead the visit and set a schedule.”
Marsh joins 4-star prospect Jacob Washington in Michigan's 2026 class. The class already earned commitments from defensive lineman Nate Marshall, quarterback Carter Smith, safety Ivan Taylor, tight end Andrew Olesh, defensive lineman Jaylen Williams and safety Kainoa Winston.
