"Barely even beat them": Fans react to IMG Academy's AJ Marks and Eric McFarland lll's celebration after win over Venice

Fans reacted as AJ Marks and Eric McFarland III helped MG Academy take down the Venice Indians 21-16 on Saturday to improve to 6-1 for the season. Venice, meanwhile, dropped its first game of the campaign and are now 6-1 through seven weeks.

Marks and McFarland celebrated their team's victory by doing a little dance on Freak Nasty's Da' Dip 25. OT7 shared a post on Instagram that showcased the duo's dancing ability.

"MY FAV DUOOOOO. IMG BEAT VENICE 21-16 ‼️," read the caption of the post.

However, some fans on social media took exception to their celebration, claiming that they barely beat the Indians. One fan commented on the team's uniform and called it "mid."

"Were they dancing like this in Utah," one fan commented.
"Barley even beat them," another fan said.
"Imagine having a national team only to win by 5," another fan wrote.
"they uniforms so mid," another fan commented.

However, some fans liked the duo's celebration.

"I want to do this dance," one fan commented.
"Bag secured," another fan wrote.
"Them boyz #IMGFOOTBALL with the DUB," another fan said.

Both teams are ranked in the top 20 of the MaxPreps' high school football rankings. IMG Academy is No. 6, while the Venice Indians are No.20 in the country.


Michigan State is the favorite to land AJ Marks, as per On3

AJ Marks, the three-star recruit from Farmington, Michigan, is a top 50 player in his position from the class of 2026. He has received offers from more than 20 CFB programs, including from the likes of Tennessee, Michigan State, Marshall, Penn State, Louisville, Maryland and Wake Forest.

Michigan State has the best chance of landing the cornerback, as per On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. According to the model, the Spartans have a 35.4% chance of acquiring the talented defenseman.

Other teams in contention are the Pittsburgh Panthers (23.4%) and the Penn State Nittany Lions (20.1%). The 5-foot-9 athlete is yet to announce his commitment, but the Spartans have a real shot at landing the three-star prospect.

AJ Marks is ranked No. 577 nationally and is the 48th-best player at his position, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He's also the 88th-best player from the state of Florida.
