LSU signee and the No. 8 recruit in the 2025 Class, Divine Bourrage, has proven herself to be one of the best high school talents. Basketball analyst and OWU Insights & Analytics Founder Economist Derrick Beechum took to Instagram to explain Bourrage's rise and how she has "elevated her game."

"Divine is proving why she's the #1 player in Iowa and top 15 player nationally. The 6-foot-0 combo guard from Davenport North has elevated her game this season, averaging 22 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals per game while leading her team starting with a 21 point differential," Beechum said.

He further continued to talk about her skills and strengths on the court:

"Divine's offensive growth is evident with her increased scoring output, efficient shot selection and ability to dominate both in half court and transition. On defense, her three steals per game highlight her elite instincts and disruptive impact, setting the tone for Davenport North's success."
"Committed to LSU, Divine embodies the modern combo guard with her ability to score at all the three levels, create for teammates and anchor a defense."

Divine Bourrage became one of the four top prospects who signed for the LSU Tigers and Kim Mulkey. The other three include ZaKiyah Johnson, a five-star shooting guard from Sacred Heart Academy in Shelbyville, Kentucky; Grace Knox, another five-star recruit from Etiwanda in Rancho Cucamonga, California; and Bella Hines, a four-star point guard from Eldorado.

Divine Bourrage received the Girls Basketball Iowa Gatorade Player of the Year 2023-24 award after averaging 19.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 3.0 steals per game and leading her school to a Class 5A State tournament qualifier with a 22-3 record.

Divine Bourrage on why she chose LSU

Bourrage committed to the Tigers on Sep. 12 after rejecting offers from programs such as Illinois, Missouri, Florida and Kentucky. She spoke to On3 to talk about her commitment, talking about Mulkey's impact:

“I like how Kim Mulkey is with her players,” Divine Bourrage told On3 after her visit. “She’s really loving with them, and I feel that’s what a player needs. Then I’m heavy on the family aspect, and I think that’s what stood out the most.
“It’s a dream come true. I’ve been a big Kim Mulkey fan for a long time, so when they hit me up and offered me, I almost cried about that. I’ve talked to coach Mulkey a lot over the phone, and she’s big on family, so it makes sense she’s like that with her players.”

With three commitments, Kim Mulkey secured the No. 1-ranked class with top recruits for the second time in three seasons.
