No. 16 recruit in the Class of 2025, Tounde Yessoufou has signed with the Baylor Bears on Nov. 13. While he will play for them next season, he continues to deliver impressive performances for St. Joseph High School, California.
Tounde Yessoufou led the Knights to a 61-57 win over five-star recruit Caleb Wilson's Holy Innocents at the Hoophall Classic Tournament on Saturday.
The small forward's performance highlights were posted by the famous basketball page 'SportsCenter NEXT' as he was seen draining threes and dominating the defenders in the paint. Yessoufou finished with 23 points, eight rebounds and five assists:
With this win, St. John now holds a 17-1 record with their only defeat coming against the Calvary Christian Academy (Fla.) on Dec. 30. On the other hand, this marked the second loss of Caleb Wilson's school, putting them on a 13-2 record for the season.
Yessoufou, who moved from Benin, located west of Nigeria, to the United States, ranks at the fourth spot in the small forward position and third in California. He has 3,238 points over four seasons and 112 games, according to MaxPreps.
In 113 games, the 6-foot-5 forward is averaging a double-double with 28.9 ppg, 2.1 apg, 10.4 rpg, 3.0 spg and 1.6 bpg.
He has shown consistent improvement offensively, having played 27 matches in his freshman year and averaging 26.4 points, 12.3 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 2.1 steals and 2.9 blocks per game.
The next year, in his sophomore season, Yessoufou played 35 games and averaged 27.8 ppg, 10.7 rpg, 2.9 apg, 3.7 spg and 1.3 bpg.
His breakout season was last year as a junior as he averaged 32.3 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.6 steals and 1.3 blocks per game in 35 games. Currently, the senior has played 16 matches while posting averages of 27.8 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 2.5 apg, 3.9 spg and 1.1 bpg.

With offers from programs including Arizona, USC, Kansas, Kentucky and more, Tounde Yessoufou committed to the Bears after officially visiting them on Aug. 31. He spoke to On3 about his decision:
“Honestly, it felt like home,” he said. “It’s a small, tight-knit community where everyone genuinely cares for each other. I can focus on myself and my goals without distractions, and their strong faith in God really stood out to me. The program felt special because of their style of play and winning spirit. "
Tounde Yessoufou is the only player that the Bears have secured from the Class of 2025.
