"Be remembered as a legend": Louisville fans react following 5-star prospect Nate Ament's MVP win at Hoophall Classic

Five-star forward Nate Ament and his Highland School (Virginia) teammates defeated Prolific Prep (California) on Sunday at the 2025 National Army Guard Hoophall Classic. Ament’s MVP performance generated reactions on social media, especially among fans of the Louisville Cardinals who appealed to him to commit to the program.

A fan wrote a lengthy pitch to the elite prospect, promising him the loyalty of the Cardinals’ fanbase.

“Nate you’re a very talented young stud no doubt. Any school would be uplifted with your mix of talent, skills and athleticism. That being said be part of the #ReviVILLE in Louisville and be remembered a legend like you deserve. Louisville fans are passionate and treat great players like royalty,” the fan commented.

Others were content with shorter appeals, hoping Ament would catch the hint.

“Come on to the Ville!!” one fan wrote.
“Louisville,” another fan wrote.

Meanwhile, Cardinals fans were not the only ones who took the opportunity to promote their programs to the standout prospect.

“BYU please,” one fan commented.
“Now come to Duke,” another fan wrote.

Some were so awestruck with Ament’s ability that it was all they could comment about.

Ament had an excellent performance on Sunday. He posted 22 points, on 5 of 11 shooting, including 10 of 10 from the free-throw line. Ament added 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block, with just one turnover.

Nate Ament is the No. 4 overall prospect and the No. 2 power forward in the 2026 class, per 247Sports. He has received at least 29 offers from top programs across the nation.

Among those who have offered Ament are Notre Dame, Tennessee, Louisville, Texas and Duke.

Ament represented the United States in the 2024 FIBA Under-18 Americas Championship. He averaged 3.7 ppg and 1.5 rpg, helping his team win the gold medal.
