Arkansas signee Meleek Thomas and other Overtime Elite hoopers Asher Elson, Adam Oumiddoch, Styles Clemmons and Akai Fleming visited the Hoover Dam. They were asked questions about the engineering wonder.
The Instagram page of Overtime Elite posted a video on Wednesday of the players' responses:
Meleek Thomas was asked what he knew about the Hoover Dam, to which he replied:
"It's the second man made.. biggest man made joint"
His reply sent social media into a frenzy:
"broo what is my man meleek on 😂😂 im glad he got basketball cus got damn 😂😂😂 what's his gpa, I finna get it checked man," another fan said.
"He’s definitely fried," one fan commented.
"Thank god for hoop," another said.
Adam Oumiddoch was asked which state they were in and he did not know the answer. However, Akai Fleming came to his rescue and answered Nevada. Furthermore, when asked what he knew about the Hoover Dam, Clemons compared it with the famous game Call of Duty:
"I don't really know nothing about it, but it's in Vegas, Arizona. But this looks like a Call of Duty map, that's what it looks like," Clemons said.
More hoops fans joined the conversation in the comments section:
"Vegas, Arizona?😭," this fan commented on Clemons' reply.
"And yall say they go to school."
Meleek Thomas on his decision to join Arkansas
Meleek Thomas, the No. 8 prospect in the 2025 Class, had plenty of offers from top colleges, including his hometown Pittsburgh, Connecticut, Auburn and Kansas State. However, he chose the Razorbacks on Nov. 11.
He talked to On3 about his decision:
“When I was making my college decision, I wanted to make sure that everything was a fit from play style and how they will use me on the team but also that it felt like home to me and my family.
"Family is so important to me – and with Coach Cal [John Calipari] and the team at Arkansas, I felt at home. I am going to spend my senior season at OTE, just developing and continuing to be the best player I can so I can make an impact in Fayetteville right away.”
Ranked No. 4 nationally by On3, Arkansas has signed Darius Acuff and Isaiah Sealy, who will join Meleek Thomas next season.
