Georgia commit Bo Walker, one of the top high school running backs in Georgia, can now play his senior season after a lengthy eligibility battle. Jeff Sentell of DawgNation confirmed the news on Wednesday.

Walker also announced his return on X, formerly known as Twitter:

"First game back this Friday 🔥."

The four-star prospect transferred from Cedar Grove to Stockbridge High School and faced uncertainty due to a Georgia High School Association (GHSA) rule preventing athletes from following a coach to another school without sitting out a year. He transferred to the school last winter, where his former offensive coordinator at Cedar Grove, Kendrick Callier, had just been named coach.

Walker and Stockbridge argued that he made the transfer before Callier’s hiring, but the GHSA didn’t consider it. After a failed hardship appeal in early August, it seemed his senior season was in jeopardy.

Despite the setback, Walker continued to practice with Stockbridge throughout the summer. However, he will not suit up for the school, as he has found a new home at Rabun Gap School, which is an independent boarding school in Northeast Georgia that plays in the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA).

Rabun Gap is not governed by the GHSA, and the running back is free to resume his football career immediately without facing the same restrictions.

Bo Walker's athletic profile

Bo Walker led Cedar Grove to a Class 3A championship last season with over 2,000 yards. His performance was a significant upgrade from his 2022 season, where he was the second-leading rusher for the school, totaling 627 yards and six touchdowns on 108 carries. He also contributed in the passing game, with 14 receptions for 158 yards and one touchdown.

Cedar Grove coach John Adams lauded Walker for his development, noting how his coachability transformed him from a promising athlete into an exceptional running back. Beyond football, the prospect also excels in baseball and track.

Walker has been committed to Georgia’s 2025 class since last October. According to On3 Industry Ranking, he ranks as as the No. 383 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 30 running back in the 2025 class and the No. 45 recruit in Georgia.
