Five-star class of 2026 prospect Caleb Gaskins announced via his official X/Twitter page on Tuesday that he's officially received a college offer from Georgia Tech.
The Columbus High School power forward is, without a doubt, one of the most sought-after juniors in high school basketball at the moment. Georgia Tech's offer makes it the 15th college offer that he's received so far.
According to ON3 predictions, UCF currently leads the race for Caleb Gaskins' commitment with a 10.5% chance. Next in line is Jacksonville at 9.2% and Florida State at 7.9%. The highly sought-after prospect also holds offers from other top programs, including Mississippi State, Maryland, Washington, LSU, Michigan, Baylor, Georgia, Ole Miss, Villanova, Auburn, and Alabama, each holding a 6.6% chance of landing him.
Despite these offers, Gaskins has chosen to remain focused on Columbus. According to the prospect, he has not made many visits to any of the colleges yet, and he hasn't gotten any fixed.
Although Alabama, Villanova, Auburn, LSU, and Georgia are reportedly working on setting up visits with him, he won't be making any visits until after this high school season.
Gaskins will, without a doubt, be a valuable asset to any team that eventually lands him. However, as a junior, he still has plenty of time to weigh his options and make his college decision unless he decides to reclassify.
He is currently one of the stand-out players in the star-studded Columbus team, who has now gone on a 17-3 record this season. Without a doubt, if he keeps up his level of quality and performance, more offers will definitely come in.
Five-Star Prospect Caleb Gaskins Opens Up About Recruitment Process
The 6-foot-8 Gaskins, currently ranked No. 9 in the ESPN 2026 class ranking, currently has 15 college programs vying for his commitment. However, the five-star recruit remains unfazed and is fully focused on his high school season. In a conversation with 247 Sports, he shared his thoughts on the whole recruiting process.
"My recruitment is going really well right now. I have a lot of offers right now but I'm not going to say it's slow but I'm just not worried about that right now. I'm worried about this high school season."
"I want to go to a school that's for me and welcomes me. I want to feel like home and play for a good coaching staff and environment."
For Caleb, playing in a welcoming environment is crucial. That being said, a good coaching staff and environment will likely be the most important factors in making his decision.
