2027 class prospects received their ratings from recruiting channels and Braylon Williams, from Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas, is one of the promising sophomores who received a four-star rating. Rivals placed him as the nation's No. 30 overall prospect in the cycle.

College programs already sent offers to Williams even before he started his sophomore season. Nebraska was the first program to extend a scholarship last year and Brent Venables' Oklahoma is the latest school to eye him for the Sooners' 2027 class.

Oklahoma defensive coordinator/ linebacker coach Zac Alley reached out to Williams with the offer. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound prospect shared the news on X and wrote:

"After a Great conversation with @CoachZAlley i’m blessed to receive a offer from The University Of Oklahoma 🔴🔴🔴⚪️⚪️@CoachSkinz @CoachWhitmire @coach_najarro @NE_Ok_HS_Sports @LHS_Recruit_APT @ChadSimmons_ @OU_Football @OU_Athletics."

Williams has already received more than a dozen offers from several schools including Colorado, Tennessee, Arkansas, SMU, Texas, Nebraska, Utah, North Texas, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Baylor.

Oklahoma has been active early in securing talent for their 2027 class and already landed the commitment of three-star edge rusher Zane Rowe. He committed to the Sooners after visiting Texas A&M, Baylor and Georgia. He made his decision shortly after the school's annual Red/White Game in April.

Braylon Williams takes pride in his athletic caliber

Braylon Williams earned First Team All-District honors as a freshman middle linebacker last year. In Arlington Lamar Vikings' Friday night loss against Haltom, he recorded 21 solo tackles, five assists, one tackle for loss and even blocked a punt.

Williams attributes his success to his versatility on the field.

"I'm very versatile," Williams said via Tennessee Rivals on Sunday. "I can run sideline to sideline any time. I'm good in pass coverage."

Arlington Lamar coach Billy Skinner praised Williams for how he plays.

"He's been built like a freakin' grown man since that moment I met him," Skinner said per Texas Football. "And he's blossomed even more."

Through the four games of the season, Braylon Williams has recorded 37 tackles (6.5 tackles for losses), two sacks, eight quarterback hurries, one interception and one pass defense.
