Kiyan Anthony is a growing kid, but sometimes, he cannot get away with lying about how tall he really is, especially with his mom, actress La La Anthony, around.
During a teaser about his latest vlog on "Overtime", the four-star shooting guard from Long Island Lutheran claimed he was 6-foot-5. His mom immediately corrected him, saying he is 6-4, though Kiyan insisted he was measured just recently.
This drew some hilarious comments from fans who could not help but point out that one does not simply lie in front of your mom, with one fan noting that Kiyan may have an obvious tell.
"Bro drinks water everytime he caps," one fan commented
"mamas are gon always keep you in check 😂," replied another fan.
"That boy rounding up but she the math police 😂," another fan said.
Meanwhile, other commenters pointed out that there is not much difference between 6-5 and 6-4, while another noted that 6-5 just sounds better.
"🥷 love to say they just got measured when height get brought up😂😂😂😂," said one fan.
"6’5 just sounds better 😂" pointed out another.
"Barely any difference 😂," said another fan.
Despite claiming that he had just been measured at the time the video was filmed, several sites, including 247Sports, lists Kiyan Anthony's height at 6-4. However, ESPN lists him at 6-5.
Kiyan Anthony not following his mom, La La's path in acting
With him on track to become a basketball star, much like his dad, Kiyan Anthony did once admit that he tried to go down his mom's path in show business too. He took up acting classes and auditioned for a movie. However, as he told WNBA All-Star Angel Reese on her "Unapologetically Angel" podcast, it was just not for him.
The four-star shooting guard told Reese that he just cannot act, even though his mom is a successful actress and TV host who has already appeared in several movies.
He is, however, following his father Carmelo Anthony's path, as he is set to head to college to play basketball soon after he graduates from Long Island Lutheran.
Kiyan is now down to his final three schools, which are Syracuse, USC and Auburn. Syracuse is seen by many as the favorite to get his commitment, as it is Carmelo's alma mater, though he has often stated that his dad is not pushing him to go there.
