Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks), led by No. 2-ranked overall recruit from the Class of 2026, Tryan Stokes, had a dominant 54-point win against El Camino Real on Saturday. The Notre Dame Knights won that game 89-35.
Stokes had a monster 20-point game, with the star small forward dominating the open floor and making his presence felt on the paint.
He had a dominating performance, but fans were wondering whether he was that dominant or he just did not have much quality competition during against El Camino Real.
"Bro playin vs middle school kids," pointed out one commenter.
Most of the comments criticized the fact that he was bigger than most of his opponents or that his opponents were not as good.
"Bro had one tuff buck where’s the comp," another commenter asked.
"Other team is a foot shorter!!! He dunks. Where is the skill," added another person.
"Playing this comp isn’t gonna make him better.. 🤦♂️," another commenter stated.
However, while there were people questioning the level of competition placed against Tyran Stokes, there were others who were praising his performance.
"Put him inna nba already 😭," commented one person.
"Them 502 boys doin their thing," said another commenter.
During the entire month of November, Tyran Stokes and Notre Dame did not have any ranked opponents, with the first one being No. 33-ranked Los Alamitos, which they defeated 100-69 on Dec. 4. However, this is still early in the team's schedule, with stronger opponents being scheduled later, mostly in 2025.
Tyran Stokes and Notre Dame to face the Boozer Twins and Columbus in January
The biggest challenge for Tyran Stokes and his team in their schedule will be Christopher Columbus High School from Miami, Florida. The team is led by several five-stars, including Cayden and Cameron Boozer, the twin sons of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer. That showdown will take place on Jan. 18.
Cameron Boozer is regarded as the consensus No. 2-ranked overall prospect from the Class of 2025, while his twin brother, Cayden, is the No. 23 overall. They are backed by 2026's No. 12-ranked overall recruit, Caleb Gaskins, as well as No. 28-ranked Jaxon Richardson, the four-star son of former NBA star Jason Richardson.
The Knights are also scheduled to take on other powerhouses. These include Bryce James and the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers on Jan. 10 and four-star Duke commit Nikolas Khamenia and Harvard-Westlake on Jan. 24.
