The most anticipated college decision from the class of 2025 is finally happening. No. 1 prospect AJ Dybantsa will appear on ESPN's First Take Tuesday and reveal which college he will go to. The final four colleges he is choosing from are BYU, Kansas, North Carolina, and Alabama, with BYU considered the favorite.
As soon as the announcment post went up, BYU fans flocked to First Take's official Instagram and proclaimed that the Utah Prep star would be committing to Kevin Young's program.
"Bros already the best BYU player since Jimmer," said one commenter.
"All this just to go to BYU," another commenter pointed out.
More fans have commented to ask Dybantsa to go to BYU, while others were predicting he may be choosing the Cougars for the money as the school reportedly offered him a multi-million dollar NIL deal.
"@aj.dybantsa aye buddy byu will be great if you come on overm" said one commenter.
"BYU Gave him the most money." commented another.
However, fans from other schools were also present to ask Dybantsa to go to their respective schools, with the loudest being Alabama fans. North Carolina and Kansas fans also made their presence felt.
"North Carolina - y’all got another congratulations an yes i’m predicting it," predicted one commenter.
"Rock chalk Jayhawk," another person said.
"Roll Tide!" said one Alabama fan.
Originally, Dybantsa was supposed to announce his school of choice in February. However, his father, Ace Dybantsa, confirmed the change to move up the announcement.
BYU the favorite to land Dybantsa, other schools gaining ground
Over the last few months, BYU has remained the favorite to get Dybantsa's committment. However, over the last two weeks, the other schools have pressed harder to land the top player in the class.
A report from 247 Sports’ Travis Branham revealed Alabama, UNC, and BYU were all "feeling pretty good about their chances.” While he noted the likeliest outcome is still Dybantsa going to BYU, the chance it may be a different school is larger than before.
