Fans expressed their excitement over the return of Carmelo Anthony’s son, Kiyan Anthony. The Long Island Lutheran High School guard has been out of action for a while after he sustained a back injury in the fourth during the Crusaders' win over St. Joseph on Nov 30, 2024.
Showtimefilms1 shared a video on Friday, showing Kiyan Anthony back in practice.
"Kiyan Anthony Back In The Lab With @andrebrown.one," the caption read.
Fans took to the comments to share their excitement at the prospect of Anthony joining his teammates on the floor soon.
“bruh got taller and stronger,” a fan wrote.
"❤️🔥let’s go," a user said.
“The hardest,” another user said.
“Him and Alijah finna be nice in college,” a fan said.
“Cuse got one,” another user wrote.
“He dunking a lot easier now," a user commented.
Anthony still has enough time to work and improve his fitness level as the Crusaders do not play until Jan. 10, 2025, when they take on Veritas Academy in their EYBL Scholastic League game.
Following the game against Veritas, LuHi will return to action 24 hours later to take on Orangeville Academy.
They then face AZ Compass on Jan. 19 before taking on La Lumiere the next day and Half Hollow Hills East on Jan. 24. LuHi will round up its January schedule with games against Green Tech and Legacy Early College on the 25th and 31st.
Kiyan Anthony’s return gives LuHi a timely boost
Anthony may have only just returned to the court, but it has come to a perfect time for the Crusaders, who are in dire need of a win. Although they are 8-5 overall in the 2024-2025 season, Luhi is without a win in four league games so far this season, as per MaxPreps.
But with the return of Anthony, who is heading to Syracuse for college basketball, LuHi will be hoping to get their first win in the league.
Anthony has always competed well in the EYBL, averaging 19.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game last summer. He also averaged 28.5 points over eight games at the NBPA Top 100 camp in Orlando.
