Savannah James, mom of Arizona Wildcats commit Bryce James, didn’t hold back after a dubious moment in her son’s high school game. On Saturday, she shared a clip on her Instagram story of Bryce making a clean basket during the game, only for the referee to disqualify it.
Her three-word reaction summed up her frustration:
“We bark back.”
The video also had some words of disbelief:
“Really gave Bryce a tech for this. 😭.”
The incident occurred during St. Francis High School's conference game against Sierra Canyon on Friday, where Bryce’s team secured a dominating 77-48 victory.
Bryce, the 6-foot-6 wing and son of NBA superstar LeBron James committed to the Arizona Wildcats earlier this month, choosing them over offers from Ohio State and Duquesne.
On Wednesday, Bryce helped Sierra Canyon secure a 71-62 win against Crespi, where his dad, LeBron and brother Bronny were in attendance. Bryce scored 13 points, including three 3-pointers.
Even LeBron showed his pride, reposting a video shared by Overtime of Bryce’s performance on his Instagram story with the caption:
“Keep going UP, Maximus!!!! Work always prevails! @justbryce.”
Savannah James celebrates Bryce James' MVP win in Hoophall Classic debut
Bryce James is steadily carving out his place in the basketball world, and his parents, LeBron and Savannah James couldn’t be more thrilled.
Over the weekend, Bryce delivered a career-best performance at the prestigious Hoophall Classic, scoring 16 points in just 17 minutes and leading Sierra Canyon to a 60-46 win over Grayson of Georgia. His sharpshooting, which included four 3-pointers on 6-of-10 shooting, earned him the game MVP award.
Bryce’s mom, Savannah James, was quick to show her pride. Sharing a video of her son being celebrated by teammates after the game, she captioned her Instagram story with a single, heartfelt word:
"Yyeeeeaaaahhhh!!!"
LeBron James didn’t hold back his excitement either. During the game, he tweeted:
"Bryce James is going crazy in the Hoophall Classic right now! Flame thrower."
Afterward, LeBron got emotional, sharing:
"So proud of you, Maximus!!! I literally just shed a tear! PROUD POPS!!"
Sierra Canyon improved to 18-3 overall after defeating St. Francis in their home conference game. On February 1, the Trailblazers face the Notre Dame Knights, who will be led by Tyran Stokes, the No. 1 nationally ranked player in the 2026 class.
